Legal Disclaimer & Terms
Please read this disclaimer carefully before engaging in coaching services with Ben Michaux Coaching, LLC.
Last updated: July 21, 2026
1. Coaching Is Not Therapy or Medical Treatment
Ben Michaux Coaching, LLC ("we," "us," "our," or "the Coach") provides life coaching services only. Coaching is a collaborative, forward-looking process intended to help teens and parents set goals, build skills, and improve communication and behavior. Coaching is not psychotherapy, counseling, psychiatric care, medical treatment, or any other licensed mental health service, and the Coach is not acting as a licensed therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, social worker, or medical provider unless separately and explicitly stated in writing.
If you or your teen are experiencing a mental health crisis, thoughts of self-harm or suicide, abuse, or any medical emergency, please contact emergency services immediately by calling 911 (or your local emergency number), or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988 in the United States). Coaching services offered through this website are not designed or equipped to respond to emergencies.
2. No Guarantee of Results
Coaching outcomes depend on many factors, including the effort, honesty, and consistency of both the teen and parent(s) involved. We make no representations, warranties, or guarantees regarding specific results, behavior changes, academic outcomes, or family dynamics from participating in coaching sessions. Testimonials shared on this website reflect individual experiences and are not a guarantee that you or your family will achieve similar results.
3. Coaching for Minors & Parental Involvement
Coaching services for clients under the age of 18 require the informed consent of a parent or legal guardian. By enrolling a minor in coaching services, the parent or legal guardian confirms they have the legal authority to do so and agrees to these terms on the minor's behalf. Parents and guardians remain responsible for decisions regarding their teen's overall wellbeing, including medical and mental health care, at all times.
4. Confidentiality
We respect the privacy of both teen and parent clients and will not share information disclosed during sessions except as reasonably necessary to coordinate care within the family coaching process, or as required by law. Please note that coaching does not carry the same legal confidentiality protections (such as therapist-client privilege) that apply to licensed mental health professionals. If a client discloses information indicating a risk of serious harm to themselves or others, or suspected abuse or neglect of a minor, we may be required or may choose to take appropriate action, including notifying a parent/guardian or the appropriate authorities.
5. Assumption of Risk & Limitation of Liability
Participation in coaching is voluntary. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ben Michaux Coaching, LLC and its owner, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of income, opportunity, or goodwill, arising out of or related to the coaching services provided, except where such liability cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
6. Fees, Cancellations & Refunds
Coaching package details are described on our Packages & Contact page. Specific fees, cancellation, rescheduling, and refund policies will be discussed during your discovery call and provided in your coaching agreement prior to the start of services. Please review these terms carefully before booking.
