Ben Michaux
About Your Coach

Hi, I'm Ben Michaux.

I help teens find their footing and help parents find their way back to connection, because I believe lasting change happens when the whole family is part of the process.

My Story

I got into family coaching because, from a young age, I noticed patterns in parenting, how my parents raised me compared to my older siblings, and how they're raising my younger siblings now. Even within the same family, the difference between how my older siblings were parented and how my younger siblings are being parented is significant.

I was fortunate to recognize those patterns early, and to work alongside other teens in leadership programs, where I watched them build communication skills, develop a winning mindset, and learn to recognize their own patterns so they knew exactly where they could improve.

As a Parent Child Whisperer Certified family coach, I take that a step further by working with parents too, helping them recognize the patterns and behaviors that may be holding them and their kids back. I gain perspective from both you and your teen, so I can see the bigger picture and better support your family's growth together.

My Approach

Every family I work with is different, so coaching isn't one-size-fits-all, but most weeks follow a similar rhythm:

  • A weekly one-on-one call with your teen focused on confidence, emotional regulation, and self-advocacy
  • A parent call right after, to share updates on your teen's progress and work through the behaviors or patterns holding them back at home
  • Summaries between calls so you're never left wondering how things are going
  • Extra support as needed between sessions, including texting or a short check-in call
What I Believe

The values behind my coaching

Family as a System

Teens don't change in a vacuum. I coach the relationships around them, not just the individual.

No Judgment, Ever

Teens and parents both deserve a space to be honest without fear of blame.

Practical Over Perfect

I focus on small, doable changes that build real momentum, not overwhelming overhauls.

Respect for Every Voice

Teens are treated as capable partners in their own growth, not just recipients of advice.

A Fresh Perspective

I'm closer in age to the teens I coach than most family coaches, which means I understand their world firsthand, not from a distance.

Beyond Coaching

Outside of coaching I love playing volleyball, rock climbing, going for runs, and occasionally climbing mountains like the Grand Teton last year.
